Back in, um, Lilac

I hated purple for a long, long time. After I dyed my hair black from purple when I was sixteen, I didn't really touch the colour again, in any form. Not even in my paintings, come to think of it. Until about a year ago, when I finally climbed on style.com and took a look at Comme des Garcons' Fall 2007 Ready-to-Wear collection. The pale lilac! I was sold. I bought a pair of opaque lilac stockings, though I didn't wear them.

Comme des Garcons - I love that peek of purple skirt!

I'm slowly reintegrating purple back into my wardrobe (and my paintings!), though I don't think it will ever be a favourite.

But today I did get my purple on. Just a little bit.

lilac and black

This dress is really conservatively girly - I'd rather wear it with studded leggings than saltwater pearls, but I think, in the end, it's always going to scream WASP.

Wearing:
• Cotton floral dress, a Christmas gift from my mother
• Black patent wedges, a birthday gift from my mother
• Black patent belt, came with a Zara dress
• Black 1980's sunglasses, opshopped, last seen when I was impersonating Billy Idol!
• Smudged makeup!

I'm the same way! I've never liked purple and only own two things with ANY purple in them, and that's only because I made myself buy some purple. I don't know what it is, I just don't like it very much!
